Pictures from Dave

Below are some of the pictures that Dave has sent from over there. He is still working really hard but I was happy to hear him sounding a little less exhausted today! He has started getting packages that we've sent so hopefully he will still have a somewhat decent Christmas with all the good stuff we are sending him. Thank you so much to all of you who are sending stuff to him, emailing him and praying for him! We appreciate every little thing!

Dave, I love you and I'm so proud of you! Carter and I miss you so much and think of you every moment!

One month down, six to go!

Well, Carter and I have officially made it through our first month without Dave. I'm so glad it's December now because the holidays will make the second month go by quickly! We are definitely missing Dave's presence around here...along with his hugs and kisses. But we are doing good and keeping ourselves busy with friends. Dave is doing well but is always very tired when I talk to him because he works so many hours each day. We all know how he needs his sleep and I don't think he ever quite gets enough! I'm praying that things will slow down for him soon so he can have a little more time to relax.

Thanksgiving was really nice at my mom's this year. We had a relaxing, mellow day with lots of yummy food. It was our first holiday in their new house and we really enjoyed it! Here are a few pictures from that day plus a couple other random shots of Carter.

Carter's new favorite is anything with jam on it!

Looking good in his LAMB shoes!

He loves to ride in his new coupe.

Soooo behind on my blog....

Well, so much has happened since my last post. Halloween, Carter's 1st Birthday, Carter started walking and sadly....Dave leaving. :( We are already REALLY missing him around here and it's only been a couple weeks. Things were so busy before Dave left so I never had time to post and then I was sick for the past two weeks. Now I'm finally feeling better and ready to catch up a little bit.
So, Carter's birthday party was a great success. There was lots of food and close family and friends. Carter had a great time smashing his cake! I know all mom's say this but I seriously cannot believe that my baby boy is one! He is really starting to walk now and it's crazy to see him cruising around the house.

Next was Halloween! Carter was Yoda and he cooperated very well with the costume to my surprise! We did our traditional trick-or-treating at the Billings house and the kids all had a great time.

So I will keep up with this much better now. Be sure to check out this page often because I'll be posting a lot more so Dave can have lots of Carter updates!

What happens in Vegas.....

....doesn't necessarily stay in Vegas because I'm so excited to tell everyone that Amy got engaged! Woohoo! The weekend was so much fun but Amy and Tim's as this time engagement was the highlight, of course. I'm still recovering from a weekend of very little sleep....seriously, I am not made to party like that. Some people can hang but I'm not one of them. Plus, I drank Saturday night and I'm pretty sure that was the first time I've been drunk since my bachlorette party 2 1/2 years ago. (pathetic, I know!)

Anyway, I really don't feel like writing all the trip details out so if you are interested in all of our Vegas fun, click on Alisha's blog on my blog list to the right. (Milosevich family) She gave a play-by-play of our whole weekend on here post so check it out! I'm way too lazy for all that writing tonight! So in a nutshell, the trip to Vegas was a blast! The most fun I've had in a long time!

A cutie in his pj's!

My son is so darn cute in his pj's every morning. I always take pictures of him in them! Just thought I'd share a few!

Busy Weekend

Well, we had a lot going on this weekend. To start with, Friday was my 29th birthday. Yes, I am old! We had a small dinner at Ciao Pasta in San Juan Capistrano because I really wasn't up for doing anything big this year. But the food was yummy and I had a great night!

Then on Saturday, Dave and I got to get away for a night alone. I really wanted us to get away for a night before Dave leaves. It was sooo nice - we went to see a movie, had an awesome dinner at French 75 in Laguna Beach and stayed at the Newport Marriott. Carter stayed home and played with his Auntie Naomi. In the morning, Dave and I had breakfast at Ruby's Diner in Laguna Beach. That was where we had our first date 12 years ago. Dave took me to breakfast there and we talked for hours. Of course, this time - there was less talking and more eating. That's how us married people do it! Dave said he was going to have a blocked artery after that breakfast - he had cinnamon french toast with bacon and eggs - plus a chocolate malt! He cannot resist a Ruby's malt!

Finally, on Sunday, the Dahlgren's threw Dave a goodbye party at their house. It was a lot of fun and Dave got to hang with all of his buddies. Carter has a little cold so he wasn't in the best mood but he still hung in there. Overall, we had a great weekend but I was really tired by the time we got home Sunday night!

"Camping" last weekend

So, last weekend we went "camping" with the Milosevich fam. By camping, of course I mean that we went for a few hours, had some smores and bailed out to sleep at home. I don't camp because I hate sleeping in a tent so I guess I'm a bed snob. But I love sitting around a bonfire and making smores so I like that part of camping. We went with Alisha, Marko and kids and it was a lot of fun. Madi was very cute, trying to sit with Carter and give him her blanket. It started raining at 7:30 so it was the perfect time to go home and put Carter to bed. It was very convenient because the campground was 1/2 a mile from our house!

Flight Suit Formal

Last Thursday night Dave and I attended the Flight Suit Formal for his squadron. This basically was just a dinner where everyone wore a flight suit, including all of the wives. It turned out to be a lot of fun and it was nice for us to have a night out while Carter was home with his Auntie Naomi. You'll see in the pictures that the flight suit didn't fit me that well - basically it looked like I was wearing a bag!

Babies and Airshow = Bad Combination!

So we took Carter to the Miramar Air Show with Dave's family on Friday. Let's just say, it didn't go so well! Carter was totally freaked out by the jet noise so we had to leave after less than an hour. He kept crying so Carter and I headed to the Matthew's house and Dave stayed to spend time with his family. Luckily, we got a couple good pics in front of the Cobra on display (the helicopter that Dave flies) before all the jet noise started. Plus, I'm adding a picture of Carter and Will. They had some fun in Will's wagon when we first arrived. I guess we won't be going to the airshow again for a couple years!

Tahiti Trip

These are just a few of my favorite pictures from our trip to Tahiti! I will possibly add a slideshow later because there were so many other great pictures from this trip.

Here we go!

Ok, well here is my blog finally! I'm trying this out just like everyone else these days. The main reason I want to this is for Dave because he is leaving soon. I want him to be able to see what Carter and I are up to on a regular basis. So I plan to put up lots of updates and pictures! I'm just getting started though so be patient with me...I have to learn all this blog stuff!
